ДАЙКОВІ УТВОРЕННЯ ЗАВАЛЛІВСЬКОЇ СТРУКТУРИ (СЕРЕДНЄ ПОБУЖЖЯ)
Анотація
The paper presents data on the geological structure features of the dike formations of the Zavallia structure located in the Kirovohrad region. During the exploration of the graphite deposit, rocks preliminarily identified as picrite were discovered. We performed a detailed description of these rocks based on a transparent thin section found in the archival collection. This is an effusive ultramafic rock with a micro-porphyritic structure that contains pseudomorphs of secondary minerals (serpentine and chlorite) after olivine and pyroxene. A unique feature of the Zavallia structure is the widespread occurrence of mafic-ultramafic dike bodies, including probable lamproites and lamprophyres. Most of the dike formations are chemically classified as komatiite-type rocks. Some bodies exhibit characteristics similar to diamond-bearing komatiites of French Guiana. The Zavallia structure may be promising for the discovery of a specific genetic type of diamonds, thus requiring further study.
